Kansas Bluestem Nubians

Nubian Junior Does-

presented in order of age

We’re glad you’re interested in learning more about our breeding stock. Junior does are shown on this page, in order of age. Each one has an introductory section here, where you’ll find basic information including whether DNA is on file, known casein alleles and G6S status, the reason we retained her and perhaps her first intended breeding. All ADGA registration numbers are linked to view their pedigree on ADGA Genetics, provided courtesy of Gene Dershewitz & ADGA.

Mature does are shown in order of age on their own page, and receive detail pages once they near the end of their first lactation with us. We can’t forget about the boys- see them on their own Herdsire page. If you are interested in purchasing a mature animal from us, or seeing all the current breeding plans in table form, please see our Breeding Plans page (available mature animals are listed at the bottom of the page in the For Sale section). To see some information on does previously owned, with progeny carrying the Kansas Bluestem herdname, please see our Previous Stock page.

Kansas Bluestem Sunkissed Lulu

ADGA #N2376568

December 29, 2023

Lulu- Sept 2024

DNA on file- yes

Alpha-s1 Casein: B/N

G-6-S: Normal (by test)

Lulu is a daughter of paternal siblings Over the Moon KUL Fantasy and Over the Moon KUL Apollo. While the mating that producer her was accidental, we’re not displeased with the results. She has shown nice balance throughout her growth stages and caught the eye of the judges in the ring (placing one time 4th and one time 6th in large classes). We intend to freshen Lulu as a long yearling.

Current Breeding Plans: Lulu has been covered for Fall 2025 kids by Food4Thought MardiGras Flasher, Kansas Bluestem Pistol Pete and Kansas Bluestem Kalua Pua’a. First doeling by Flasher will be retained. We might also retain first doeling by Pete. Bucklings will only be offered as herdsires if she meets our expectations as a milker. DNA on buck kids will only be run after a deposit is in place. Contact us to get on the list for a bottle wether or a buckling. Please see our breeding plans for information on placing a reservation and what that means in our herd.

Kitkats Sunkissed Auxesia

ADGA #N2376566

April 15, 2024

Aux is one of the first goats with our second herd name, “Kitkats.” At birth, we were certain Aux was a buck kid because she just had a masculine head and shoulder assembly. We were excited when we did not find external parts! Aux’s dam, Haweye Farm PBF Demeter, is a doe we leased for one breeding season, with the hope of getting a doe kid to start Kathryn’s show string. Aux’s sire, Apollo, complements that dam-line well, and we’re excited to see how this girl does in the ring. Due to her late season birthday, she didn’t see any spring shows, but we might get her out to a few fairs this fall season.

Kansas Bluestem Sunkissed Auxesia as a senior kid.

Aux- September 2024

DNA on file- no

Alpha-s1 Casein: unknown

G-6-S: Normal (by parentage)

Current Breeding Plans: Aux has been covered for October 2025 kids by Kansas Bluestem Kalua Pua’a and Kansas Bluestem Pistol Pete. First doe kid by each buck may be retained. DNA will be run to confirm parentage. Buck kids will only be available as herdsires if her performance as a milker meets our requirements. DNA on buck kids will be completed after a reservation is in place. Contact us to get on the list if you are interested in either a potential buckling or a bottle wether. Please see our breeding plans for information on placing a reservation and what that means in our herd.

Locust Creek MS Friend in Me

ADGA #N2389107

April 15, 2024

Friend was a semi-unplanned addition to our herd in the Spring of 2024. Her breeder, Heather Eby/Locust Creek, had a single kid born just days before leaving for vacation (and the same day as we had kids were born), so we agreed to kid-sit for her while she was gone. Then Heather got the AS1C test results telling us that Friend was a doe that would fit right into our breeding “side-project” of a line of AS1C N/N Nubians. So, we decided that Friend may as well just stay forever!

Friend has been small in stature since weaning. We’re still holding out hope that she will freshen nicely and give us some “normal” sized kids, though. Friend’s sire and dam are both from the well-known Blissberry herd. Her sire, Blissberry Macapuno Sunrise is son of the up and coming Blissberry Coconut Cooler, son of Wingwood Farm TL Atlas. Friend’s dam goes back to both Blissberry Sonic Boom and Blissberry Rock Hard, the first Nubian sire to have three Ex93 daughters. We are delighted to have these “outside” genetics in our herd and love the general appearance of her build, despite her small frame.

Locust Creek MS Friend in Me as a dry yearling.

Friend- August 2025

DNA on file- no

Alpha-s1 Casein: N/N

G-6-S: Normal (by parentage)

Current Breeding Plans: Friend will be bred for March 2026 kids by Kansas Bluestem MGF Inferno. Selected buck subject to change until breeding takes place since Inferno is still a junior. Please see our breeding plans for information on other breedings and opportunities to place a reservation.

Kansas Bluestem Parade Trinket

ADGA #N2417939

November 1, 2024

Trinket is our first retained, much anticipated, daughter of Flasher, out of Souvenir. Souvenir always placed well as a dry yearling, so we knew we needed to add more of her genetics to our herd. Flasher’s other daughters (Food4Thought herd) also show well, which made this cross make sense in our mind. Trinket is the first doe in Knox’s show string, and will be his primary 4-H showmanship goat. She will also travel around on the regional circuit with Kathryn’s small herd.

Kansas Bluestem Parade Trinket as a dry yearling.

Trinket- May 2025

DNA on file- no

Alpha-s1 Casein: A/B or B/B (by parentage)

G-6-S: N/N (normal by parentage)

Current Breeding Plans: Trinket will be bred for January 2026 kids by Kansas Bluestem Kalua Pua’a. First doe kid is retained. Buck kids will be offered as 4-H wethers. Please see our breeding plans for information on other breedings and opportunities to place a reservation.

Velociraptor Ranch Zelda

ADGA #N2423436

January 6, 2025

Zelda was an unplanned addition in 2025, who is a maternal sister to Velociraptor Ranch Zobafet, dam to ZarZar. As we started looking at the maternal dam-line, we realized the quality of genetics we had the opportunity to purchase, and adding in the milkiness of her sire, Desert Diamond True Grit *B, we expect she’ll be the total package of what we’re trying to breed. Zelda has a beautiful topilne that blends nicely into wide hips and a well-sloped rump. Her front end is very correct as well, and she stands on nice, strong and straight feet and legs. We’re looking forward to seeing her as a milking yearling in 2026.

Velociraptor Ranch Zelda at 4 months old.

Zelda- May 2025

DNA on file- no

Alpha-s1 Casein: unknown

G-6-S: Normal (by parentage)

Current Breeding Plans: Zelda will be bred to Cozy Meadow Maximum Chrome for Winter 2026 kids. All kids will be available. Reservations will open once the breeding has been confirmed via bloodtest. Contact us to get on the list if you are interested in either a potential buckling or a bottle wether. Please see our breeding plans for information on placing a reservation and what that means in our herd.

Cozy Meadow Prima Ballarina

ADGA #N2425937

February 22, 2025

Prima is a highly anticipated paternal sister to our herdisre, Cozy Meadow Maximum Chrome. Her dam, Goddard Farm Pirouette, is daughter of top ten doe, Goddard Farm FSP Euphemia. Prima is quite striking with her all black coat, and her conformation doesn’t disappoint either being extremely wide and level across her rump, with great body capacity. We knew the Windsong Farm and Goddard Farm genetic cross will result in an incredibly milky animal. What we didn’t expect is that she’d have such a strong topline and wide, level rump. She has excellent dairy qualities and stands on strong feet and legs. Waiting to see her as a milking yearling is going to be difficult.

Cozy Meadow Prima Ballarina at three months old.

Prima- May 2025

DNA on file- no

Alpha-s1 Casein: unknown

G-6-S: Normal (by parentage)

Current Breeding Plans: Prima will be bred to Kansas Bluestem Pistol Pete for January or March kids (depending on how she grows through the summer). First doeling will be retained. Buck kids will be offered as 4-H Maket Wethers and will be great, growthy options for local 4-Hers. Please see our breeding plans for information on placing a reservation and what that means in our herd.

Kansas Bluestem Parade Spark

ADGA #N2429241

February 28, 2025

Spark is a daughter of one of our barn favorites, Camelot Cattle Co Cinder. Her sire is Food4Thought MardiGras Flasher. Flasher brings frame size with nice mammary systems to Cinder’s correctness and production. Spark has a very long bone pattern and a well blended neck and shoulder. Her front legs are very correct, and she maintains good width between her hocks in her hings. We’re looking forward to seeing the milk production and mammary system on this doe when she freshens.

Kansas Bluestem Parade Spark at three months old.

Spark- May 2025

DNA on file- no

Alpha-s1 Casein: B/N

G-6-S: Normal (by parentage)

Current Breeding Plans: Spark will be covered by Edison for her first freshening. We’re hoping that she grows well enough to kid as a young yearling, but time will tell. All doe kids will be available for purchase. Buck kids will only be available as herdsires if her performance as a milker meets our requirements. Contact us to get on the list if you are interested in either a potential buckling or a bottle wether. Please see our breeding plans for information on placing a reservation and what that means in our herd.

Velociraptor Ranch ZarZarZinks

ADGA #N2429243

March 6, 2025

ZarZar is the reason we purchased Zobafet as a bred doe in Jaunary of 2025. We wanted to get our hands on genetics from ZarZar’s paternal grandsire, Running River Ugly Stik. Ugly Stik’s dam, Running River Denali’s Nanuq, is a doe we’ve been watching for several years due to her lactation records. Nanuq isn’t a top ten doe, but she has long, level and highly productive lactations that we noticed. ZarZar’s dam line is fairly petite, but with the Wingwood bloodlines added in through ZarZar’s sire, Wingwood Farm Fish Artie, we expect her to mature with a nice sized frame. Unfortunately, ZarZar suffered a long battle with pneumonia as a kid, and self-weaned early. This has caused slower growth and less bloom on her frame than her contemporaries, and we hope she catches up with time.

Velociraptor Ranch ZarZarZinks at 5 months old.

ZarZar- August 2025

DNA on file- no

Alpha-s1 Casein: unknown

G-6-S: Normal (by parentage)

Current Breeding Plans: It is unlikely that ZarZar will be bred to kid in 2026 due to the petiteness of her dam line. However, if she grows adequately, she will be covered by one of our junior herdsires for an October kidding. Please see our breeding plans to see planned breedings, pricing and other information on the pairings we do have planned for the upcoming kidding season.

Kansas Bluestem Divine Design

ADGA #N2427662

March 7, 2025

When we hosted a buck collection in the fall of 2024, Desi’s sire, Food4Thought Divinity, was present. His breeder/owner, Brandy Rigg of Food4Thought Dairy Goats offered us the opportunity to use him at stud, and we jumped on the opportunity. Divinity’s dam, Food4Thought E’Clair, was a beautiful doe with a very productive and well formed mammary system. We’d been on E’Clair’s waitlist for a while but never given the opportunity to purchase a kid before her passing… so getting a chance to use her son in our herd was exciting. Desi’s dam is Camelot Cattle Co Mandisa, and is the only doe we had in strong standing heat that day. I think the cross worked out beautifully, giving us a very stylish and angular daughter. We’re already anticipating the mammary system she has at maturity!

Kansas Bluestem Divine Design at 2 months old.

Desi- May 2025

DNA on file- no

Alpha-s1 Casein: unknown, but should be high alleles

G-6-S: Normal (by parentage)

Current Breeding Plans: We might leave Desi dry for 2026 and keep her as a dry yearling on our show string or we might breed her to freshen in March. Every day we lean more one direction or the other… intended buck is listed in our breeding plans, but we might choose not to breed her. Please see our breeding plans for information on placing a reservation and what that means in our herd.

Fairacres Kitkats Tatiana

ADGA #N2427407

March 14, 2025

Tot is a doe kid that Kathryn retained due to her sire’s bloodlines. Tot’s sire, Hoanbu DG Kounter Strike, is son to Hoabu Kaisley Katiss, a doe who maxed out her first freshener LA score with VEEE 89. Kaisley has produced multiple gorgeou daughters with excellent mammaries, and we expect she’s passed those genetics to her son, Striker. Striker worked for a few years in the SilverFire Nubians herd in TX, which is a herd we admire, so when the opportunity to retain a Striker daughter presented itself, we were all in.

Tot oozes dairyness and has incredibly thin and stretchy skin over a very angular frame. She was selected as Reserve Champion junior doe in the Youth Show, under judge Kimberly Fullen, at the Sunflower Doe Down in Salina, KS in 2025. We’re very excited to watch her continue to mature, and gain confidence on the collar. When she’s cooperating, she looks fabulous… when she’s not, she’s a screaming mess, lol.

Fairacres Kitkats Tatiana at 2 months old.

Tot- May 2025

DNA on file- no

Alpha-s1 Casein: unknown

G-6-S: Normal (by parentage)

Current Breeding Plans: We have not decided whether we will breed Tot to be a milking yearling or not. Her dam line is generally fast growing, but her sire line typically is not freshened until age two. Tot’s growth rate and size in October will help us decide whether she’s bred or not. Please see our breeding plans for information on placing a reservation and what that means in our herd.

Kansas Bluestem Rapunzel

ADGA #N2435657

April 2, 2025

Rapunzel is daughter of Jasmine, sired by Ralph. She is a repeat breeding between her parents, as the first attempt resulted only in buck kids, but those buck kids put smiles on our faces! Punzee is exaclty what we hoped to get from this cross- she’s tall, long and level, with a good length to her rump and great femininity all over. Punzee has been a bit of a challenge to train to walk on a collar, so hasn’t hit any show rings (yet) but we expect that when she does, she’ll turn heads there as well.

Kansas Bluestem Rapunzel at 2 months old.

Punzee- May 2025

DNA on file- no

Alpha-s1 Casein: A/B or B/B (by parentage)

G-6-S: Normal (by parentage)

Current Breeding Plans: We intend to leave Punzee dry for 2026 due to her late birthday. If she learns to behave on the collay, she’ll be a dry yearling on our show string. We’ve got plenty of other breedings to choose from though, if you’re shopping for a 2026 kid. Please see our breeding plans to see planned breedings, pricing and other information on the pairings we do have planned for the upcoming kidding season.

Kansas Bluestem Elektradiance

ADGA #N2442365

April 21, 2025

Raid is a petite little doe who boasts all kinds of style. Though she hasn’t been fast growing she’s checking all the boxes that we hoped for in conformation. Her rump structure is wide and long and gets noticed everywhere she goes- we sure hope she keeps that booty as she matures! Her dam, Elektra, was one of our strongest producers, but needs some improvement in the foreudder attachment. We’re hoping that Ralph’s genetics show up strong in Raid’s mammary.

Kansas Bluestem Elektradiance at six weeks old.

Raid- May 2025

DNA on file- no

Alpha-s1 Casein: A/B or B/B (by parentage)

G-6-S: Normal (by parentage)

Current Breeding Plans: Due to her small size and late spring birthday, it is unlikely that Raid will freshen until 2027. We have plenty of other does who will have 2026 kids available though! Please see our breeding plans to see planned breedings, pricing and other information on the pairings we do have planned for the upcoming kidding season.for information on placing a reservation and what that means in our herd.

Kitkats Parade Mochaccino

ADGA #N2442374

April 22, 2025

MoMo is a favoite of Kathryn, because of her sweet nature. From the vey beginning, Momo has been willing to do just about anything for Kathryn, expect pose pretty for pictures. Momo has a nice dairy frame, with good length of bone and strong feet and legs. She’s going to need a bit of time to grow into herself, but we are confident she’ll be a nicely put together doe at maturity.

Kitkats Parade Mochaccinoa at six weeks old.

Momo- May 2025

DNA on file- no

Alpha-s1 Casein: unknown

G-6-S: Normal (by parentage)

Current Breeding Plans: It is unlikely that we will freshen MoMo to be a milking yearling. Please see our breeding plans for to see planned breedings, pricing and other information on the pairings we do have planned for the upcoming kidding season.

Pure Living Water FreeAndEasy

ADGA #N2441199

May 5, 2025

Easy and her twin sister, Fire, were impulse purchases when they were a week old and advertised at a steal of a deal. Their sire, Silverfire Dierks Bently, is paternal grandson of Caprinoroyale Freesia and a son of Silverfire Challenge Me. Challenge Me has a beautiful udder, and we’ve recently added semen to our collection on another Caprinoroyale Freesia son. Their dam, Tule Creek RockBeMine 4U, is a daughter of Jacobs Pride No Mistake Made4U. Maid4U is the sire of our former buck Zoa Playin Stubborn Just4U. These sisters fit right in with our current herd, and are connected to lines we intend to bring in via AI, so we naturally jumped on the good deal when they were posted well below traditional market value, even though we really didn’t need any additional 2025 keeper doe kids.

Easy is wider than her sister, Fire. She has a rump structure that caught my eye from the very beginning and I’ve enjoyed watching her grow. Being a May kid, she didn’t hit the show ring in 2025, and likely won’t breed as a yearling. We’ll have to see how she looks next spring before we determine if she’ll show as a dry yearling.

Pure Living Water FreeAndEasy at two and a half months old.

Easy- August 2025

DNA on file- no

Alpha-s1 Casein: unknown

G-6-S: N/N (normal by parentage)

Current Breeding Plans: Due to her late spring birthday, we will not breed Easy to kid in the spring of 2026. We are undecided about whether she will freshen in October 2026 or not until spring of 2027. Check our breeding plans page to see planned breedings, pricing and other information on the pairings we do have planned for the upcoming kidding season.

Fire has the personality of a lost puppy. She loves attention and must always be with something else… person, cat, dog or goat. Her overall general appearance is fantastic, and while Easy has her beat in width, Fire is the better looking doe at the moment. Being a May kid, she didn’t hit the show ring in 2025, and likely won’t breed as a yearling. We’ll have to see how she looks next spring before we determine if she’ll show as a dry yearling.
